Terrie Howey is a Storyteller (known as Red Phoenix) and PhD researcher at Loughborough University investigating: storytelling as intangible cultural heritage impacting the sense of place of residents of the new town of Milton Keynes. Her current research challenges the popular conception of Milton Keynes as a place lacking in heritage and regards how these commonly repeated narratives effect the mindset of residents of the New Town and their ‘Sense of Place’. To complement her research Terrie wrote the Buckinghamshire Folk Tales, published through the History Press in 2019, as a collection of folk stories connected to the landscape of Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
